Training and Resources

A very beneficial component to a succesful language lab is training.  CTS is proud to offer a you an option for training outside of your sales representatives through Language Lab Training and Resource (LLTR, Inc.).

Sandy Hayward, LLTR

Sandy Hayward, proprietor of LLTR, is a Technology Integration Specialist with Language Lab Training and Resource Inc. (LLTR) and has many years of practical experience and classroom based knowledge specific to language lab training and technology integration.

Sandy brings over 20 years experience in teaching, training, creating, and supporting various education programs for children and adults.

I have been using your labs for several years and am extremely happy with the growth and changes you have incorporated.  My friend Chip has always been very teacher friendly and an excellent resource, but having Sandy on board has just deepened and enriched the entire experience.  Her background makes her able to speak “our language” in a very meaningful way.  Bravo!  I would love to have her in the school two or three times per year for continued PD and on-going problem solving. Way to go, CTS!!!!(:

Currently Sandy develops and conducts onsite professional development technology integration training modules, new language lab implementation plans, curriculum integration, and internet based Webinar training specific to second language acquisition. Sandy provides on-site training methods and techniques as well as web-based.

During Sandy’s four years at Vernon Hills High School, suburban Chicago, IL serving as their International Languages Lab Coordinator, Sandy provided leadership in technology use for the International Languages Department. During this time she served on the Language Lab upgrade committee researching available Lab Operating Systems, and composed the findings reports for administration and board review. Sandy provided training and created support materials for language teachers using the Sony Virtuoso™/SOLOIST® language lab operating system.

On a daily basis Sandy assisted teachers in developing effective language and culture lessons utilizing and integrating technology. She also trained and supported the teachers on the schools internet software. The Vernon Hills International Language Teachers have a 100% teacher presence on the school’s website. Within the educational community outside of Vernon Hills she implemented, coordinated, and provided leadership for the North Shore Language Lab Network. This group comprised of language lab support staff and lead teachers using varied language lab operating systems still convenes on a semi-annual basis and serves as a resource for networking and collaboration.
