2015 Convention: March 18-19, 2015
Join us for our first ever two-day Convention on March 18-19, 2015 at St. Michael’s College. ACTFL Consultant Donna Clementi will lead participants through an engaging two-day program entitled “Leading With Culture: Preparing Language Learners for Work and Life in the 21st Century.” ACTFL’s recently released Global Competence Position Statement underlines the importance of building cultural understanding while learning to communicate with respect in more than one language. Byram (1997) called this integration of language and culture “interculturality.” Participants will explore how to design lessons and units that emphasize interculturality, and how to guide learners in reflecting on their growth in intercultural communicative competence.
